HONOURING A SILENT SENTINEL THE LAST JOURNEY OF

LATE L/NK MOHAMMAD NASEEM

In the quiet town of Kurebhar, Sultanpur, the Nation bid farewell to a silent sentinel of history—Late Lance Naik (L/NK) Mohammad Naseem, the 81-year-old driver of Param Vir Chakra awardee CQMH Abdul Hamid during the 1965 Indo-Pak War. Late L/Nk Mohammad Naseem was more than a driver; he was a witness to valour, a companion in battle, and a living link to one of India’s most heroic chapters.

On the evening of his burial on 29 May 2025, as the sun dipped behind the fields, a team comprising of Junior Commissioned Officers and Other Ranks arrived from the Regiment.

Tasked with honouring a fallen comrade, their presence underscored the GRENADIERS' deep-rooted tradition of remembering every thread in the fabric of its legacy.

Ceremonial wreaths were  laid with full Military Honours—one on behalf of  The Colonel The GRENADIERS.

As the body was gently lowered into the earth, prayers rose in solemn unison. Late L/Nk Mohammad Naseem may have left this world, but his quiet service will forever echo in regimental memory.
