HONOURING LEGACY AND VALOUR : VISIT OF SENIOR REGIMENTAL LADY

       On 14 Jan 2025, Mrs Murti Chhikara w/o Late Lt Col Surinder Singh visited the Grenadiers Regimental Centre, Jabalpur with her son, Brig Sanjay Chhikara and family members.

       Lt Col Surinder Singh, commissioned into 7 GRENADIERS (9 MECHINF) on 21 Dec 1968, was a true war hero who served in both the 1965 and 1971 wars. After an illustrious career, he superannuated on 31 Jul 1997 and passed away in Jan 2004, leaving behind a legacy of courage and determination.

      The visit began with wreath-laying at the War Memorial, followed by visit to Hari Mandir and Rakesh Museum. The veteran’s family members also had an interaction with Brig Lalit Sharma, SC, SM, Commandant, The Grenadiers Regimental Centre and other officers, thus, celebrating a life of honour.
