INAUGURATION OF COL HOSHIAR SINGH KHEL PARISAR

AT MATHURA CANTT ON 29 MAR 2025

1.         It is a matter of great pride for the Regtiment as the Khel Parisar in Mathura Cantt has been dedicated to the valour and bravery of Maj (Later Col) Hoshiar Singh, PVC, war hero of the battle of Basantar fought by 1 Corps in 1971. The idea to honour this great war hero of the Regt was conceptualised by Lt Gen Sanjay Mitra, AVSM, GOC 1 Corps and Col The GRENADIERS. A bust of Maj (Later Col) Hoshiar Singh, PVC has been installed at the Khel Parisar which will motivate the younger generation in knowing about the great valour of the war heroes of the Regt.

2.         In a true display of the Regtl spirit, approx 150 ESM and 100 serving pers of the The GRENADIERS Regiment were standing together to honour the war hero of the Regt, who has been instrumental in forging the identity of the Regt.

3.         A deeper significance got added with the poignant  presence of Mrs Hoshiar Singh, Lt Gen SS Dhillon, PVSM, AVSM**, VSM, Ex Col The GRENADIERS and Maj Gen Dilawar Singh, and a large gathering of the GRENADIERS fraternity.
