WREATH LAYING CEREMONY AT THE NATIONAL WAR MEMORIAL OF GDR (LATE) SURENDAR SINGH MAAN, SC OF 2 GRENADIERS

     A wreath-laying ceremony was solemnly organised at the National War Memorial, New Delhi on 09 May 2026 to honour and remember No 2681488H Gdr (Late) Surendar Singh Maan, SC of 2 GRENADIERS, who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.

     The ceremony was conducted with full military decorum, paying homage to his exemplary courage, unwavering dedication, and selfless service to the nation. The wreath was laid by Smt Sushila Devi, wife of Gdr (Late) Surendar Singh Maan, SC, as a mark of deep respect and gratitude towards the brave soldier.

      Gdr (Late) Surendar Singh Maan, SC laid down his life while fighting terrorists during “Op Rakshak CI (Ops) (J&K)” on 22 Jul 1995, displaying indomitable spirit and devotion to duty in the highest traditions of the Indian Army.

     An interaction was also organised with Mrs Rita Mitra, during which the family was assured of the Regiment’s continued support, care, and unwavering commitment towards the welfare of the Veer Naris and their families.
