WREATH LAYING CEREMONY AT THE NATIONAL WAR MEMORIAL 

OF HAV (LATE) SODAN SINGH OF 5 GRENADIERS

A special wreath-laying ceremony was held at the National War Memorial on 09 Mar 2026 to honour Hav (Late) Sodan Singh of 5 GRENADIERS, who laid down his life in the line of duty.

The solemn ceremony paid tribute to his courage, dedication, and supreme sacrifice in service of the nation. His wife, Smt Mithlesh Devi, attended the ceremony accompanied by Miss Varsha Kumari (Daughter) and Agniveer Gulshan Kumar(Son), currently serving in 13 Grenadiers (GJ).

Around 40 representatives of 5 GRENADIERS were also in attendance; standing together in unity and upholding the timeless spirit and traditions of the Regiment.

An interaction was also organised with Mrs Rita Mitra, during which the family was assured of the Regiment’s continued support and commitment to the welfare of the Veer Naris and their families.
