WREATHLAYING CEREMONY AT THE NATIONAL WAR MEMORIAL OF  NO 2672714N HAV (LATE) SAMUNDER SINGH OF 13 GRENADIERS (GJ)

A wreath-laying ceremony was solemnly organised at the National War Memorial, New Delhi on 09 Aug 2026 to honour and remember No 2672714N Hav (Late) Samunder Singh of 13 GRENADIERS (GJ), who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.

The ceremony was conducted with full military decorum, paying homage to his exemplary courage, unwavering dedication and self less service to the Nation. The wreath was laid by Smt Pushpa Devi, wife of Hav (Late) Samunder Singh as a mark of deep respect and gratitude towards the brave soldier.

Hav (Late) Samunder Singh laid down his life while fighting terrorists during "Op RHINO" on   23 Dec 1999, displaying indomitable spirit and devotion to duty in the highest traditions of the Indian Army.

An interaction was also organized with Mrs Rita Mitra, during which the family was assured of the Regiment's continued support, care and unwavering commitment towards the welfare of the Veer Naris and their families.
